A World to Call Home A World to Call Home

by Nelia & Pedro

Hi and thanks for checking out our blog.

We are a Portuguese couple that moved to London together, looking for new profissional and personal challenges. We’ve been living in London since 2013. Pedro is a portrait and fashion photographer and Nelia is a paediatric nurse. We both have very flexible jobs, so that makes it easy for us to enjoy our time off, be it in London or somewhere else out there. Together we fell in love with experiencing the world and travel as often as we can. So we decided to start this new adventure, a travel blog sharing adventures in London and  around the globe, to inspire your own.

This project is not exactly your typical blog. Many of the travel blogs leave us the idea that to travel around the world you have to sell your stuff, leave your work, leave your loved ones, and go travel the world without a plan. But we don’t want to do that.  We really like our life here in London, being close with friends, a couple of hours from the family…. With this blog, We want to show you how making travel dreams come true, while having a real life.

Each one of us have it’s own dream destinations, so when we find time to travel, we put them together and decide where to go next, depending on time of the year, budget, how long we want to spend on the destinations vs time that we have to travel, among other factors. After deciding the final destination Nelia does the detailed research, looking for the best places to eat, what to visit, secret and less touristy places, option of where to stay and how to travel… Then we get together to make the final trip plan. But, even if we like to be organised before traveling, both of us are quiet flexible, open to new adventures, and last mint changes don’t scare us.

Here and there we may also share with you a little bit of our photography geekiness. We have some great digital gear, but we also have lot’s of fun shooting and developing film and using polaroids.

We hope you will feel inspired by our stories and we would love to be inspired by your’s.
So feel free to contact us and share your experiences or send us questions you may have. We can’t wait to hear from you.
